[Independent Review]  *Hà Nội – Nhà hàng Việt

    Concept

A Bản specializes in ethnic minority cuisines from various provinces in Vietnam

    Address

76 Trần Phú, Ba Đình, Hà Nội

    Impressions

With Tam Vi receiving its first Michelin star and now often being fully booked, we went in search of an alternative for good quality traditional Vietnamese cuisine in a nice setting.

After dining at A Bản – 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐰 several times over the past few months, it has earned a spot on our “must-visit” list – especially when bringing guests looking to experience real Vietnamese food.

Nha Hang A ban - Ha Noi
Không gian ấm cúng tầng 2

A Bản specializes in ethnic minority cuisines from around Vietnam.

While we can’t vouch for the absolute authenticity, most dishes we tried were excellent (some only “average”) and distinct from typical Hanoian restaurants.

A few standouts we particularly enjoyed:

    • Stir-fried corn with meat
    • Five-Color Sticky Rice
    • Pork wrapped and cooked in leaves
Ngô nếp bung xào thịt (75k) A Ban Ha Noi
    Stir-fried corn with meat
Thịt lợn mán gói lá nướng (195k) - A Ban Ha Noi
    Grilled pork wrapped in leaves
Xôi ngũ sắc (85k) - A Ban Ha Noi
    Five-Color Sticky Rice
Pà cỏi Mương Tay - A Ban Ha Noi
    Fish Salad

A Bản also offers Hot Pots ( lẩu) which seem to be particularly popular among the locals (We did not try them). If you feel more adventurous you can also find some insect-based dishes on the menu, which we have not yet experimented…
