In our previous articles, we already covered local food, Western restaurants, and specialty coffee in Da Nang.
We are now aiming to share our honest thoughts on the city’s best bars. This is all based on our personal experience built from multiple long stays in Da Nang, the latest one being spring 2025.
First of all, Da Nang has good nightlife. This should be your starting point.

The place attracts an increasing number of Vietnamese and foreign tourists, and this is a long-term trend.
Logically, the city has a growing number of bar options : Beachside bars, rooftop spots with great views, live music venues, cocktail specialists, wine bars, and craft beer places. You’ll find something no matter what you’re into.
The best part is that prices are relatively cheaper than Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and even more so compared to Western countries if that’s your point of reference.

1. Beach Bars
With its stunning coastline, it’s no surprise that beach bars are everywhere in Da Nang.
Before starting to mention specific places, remember that along My Khe Beach, you can stop anywhere and rent a lounge chair for just 40,000 VND. You can relax as long as you want with reasonable drink prices that are regulated by local authorities: bottled water 10k, beer 20-30k, coconut 30k.
No need to worry about getting ripped off. It’s cheap, and sitting by the sea already makes up 90% of the experience for us.

But if you’re looking for a proper beach bar with beautiful space, lots of drink options, good music, and a lively atmosphere, check out these places:
MAIA Beach Bar

This is our favorite beach bar on My Khe Beach, the one we ended up returning to the most during our last stay in Da Nang after trying many different spots.
Part of the M Group along with the 5-star M Hotel across the street, Maia works for us in many ways:
- Beautiful and spacious setting with beachfront seating, diverse drinks
- DJs playing good music every day of the week.
- Price-wise, this isn’t the cheapest bar, but this also helps avoid the crowds.
It’s one of the most popular beach bars in Da Nang, so you should book ahead if you want to guarantee a good seat, especially during peak times like sunset or weekend evenings. The menu also has food if you need it, though we haven’t tried it personally since it didn’t seem particularly special or good value for the price.

A few other beach bars with our thoughts
Esco Beach Bar Lounge & Restaurant

This is a fairly old beach bar in Da Nang, but the outdoor space is relatively small and there’s no beachfront seating. The upside is that it’s pretty cheap when combined with daily promotions like happy hour and breakfast combos.
Nautica Beach Club ( Premier Village Danang Resort – Accor Group)

This is a favorite spot for many of my foreign friends living there because even if you’re not staying at the resort, with a minimum spend of 350k per person on food and drinks, you can still use facilities like the outdoor pool, private beach, towels, bathrooms and changing rooms for free.
That said, the food and drinks here are basically expensive (5-star hotel prices) for average quality. You’ll get the best value from this deal if you plan to spend the whole day making use of all facilities while relaxing, sunbathing, and swimming.
Note that weekends are usually very crowded and priority is given to hotel guests, which means it’s not always possible to benefit from this deal.
Paradise Beach Bar & Cinema

This rustic-style beach bar offers particularly cheap prices during happy hour. It’s better to visit on days with special events.
Lounge Beach Bar – Restaurant

Nothing notable in the menu of this bar on both the food and drink side, but you’ll find multiple tables with great sea views.

2. Craft Beer Bars
Craft beer is a growing trend in Vietnam. While the number of specialized craft beer bars here isn’t as high as in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, you will still find in Da Nang enough places to try the thriving local productions.
East West Brewing Co.

This name is well-known among craft beer enthusiasts in Vietnam. They currently have 3 official taprooms: one in Ho Chi Minh City, one in Da Nang, and most recently, Quy Nhon. T
heir beers are also distributed in Hanoi at some of the bars mentioned in our Hanoi Craft Beer guide below.

In Da Nang, East West Brewing has a premium location right in the center of My Khe Beach, making it almost a beach bar with a spacious outdoor terrace (second floor) and beautiful views. With a diverse menu from food to drinks (not just craft beer), this is definitely one of the must-visit bars of the city. You should book ahead or arrive early (before 5 pm) if you want a nice outdoor seat.

Besides that, Da Nang also has many bars serving beer from other local craft breweries, mostly found in two areas: the expat district An Thuong (near My Khe Beach) and Hai Chau (near the Han River).
Two additional notes: 7 Bridges, which is one of the most respected breweries in Vietnam (and maybe my favorite), is from Da Nang. They unfortunately closed their taproom in the city, but have a pretty cool one in Hoi An. The 5 Elements beers available at Brewhaha taproom also seem very interesting, but we didn’t have time to try them.
3. Rooftop bars
Da Nang doesn’t only have the beach. It also has a skyline. The tall buildings along the coast are now an integral part of the city, and their top floors host dozens of rooftop bars.
Ciela Skybar & Dining

Located on the 26th floor of Voco Ma Belle Danang Hotel, part of IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), this is probably our favorite rooftop bar in Da Nang after trying many spots.
Why? Because Ciela meets all our criteria:
- Convenient location in the center of My Khe Beach
- Good views and professional service
- An excellent Happy Hour: Buy 1 get 1 free from 5-7pm every day of the week, applying to both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (soda, mocktails, juices). Many bars have happy hours, but happy hours that include non-alcoholic drinks are pretty rare.
Note: They also have an indoor restaurant area with window tables offering great views.

Gypsy Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Another project from Olivier Corti of Le Comptoir – one of the most prominent French restaurants in Da Nang that we mentioned in our previous article. Gypsy is a rooftop bar/restaurant specializing in modern Mediterranean cuisine, with a nice space design and great Han River views.
The downside of Gypsy is its location, which is a bit far from the center and not very convenient for tourists. We went on a weekday and found the bar area quite empty. The atmosphere is probably livelier on weekends or during special events.

The Roof

Located on the upper floor of East West Brewing Co. (mentioned in section 2 above), The Roof isn’t as high as other rooftop bars but still offers great views of My Khe Beach thanks to its central location.
You can try this place during sunset hours, with their Happy Hour buy 1 get 1 classic cocktail deal (2-5pm daily).

A Few Other Rooftop Bars With Our Impressions
Stella Maris Hotel’s rooftop bar

Depending on what you order, this is probably one of the best-priced rooftop bars in central My Khe Beach: Just 55k for 2 cans of Larue beer during sunset Happy Hour, which is great for the view below!
That said, other items on the menu aren’t particularly special.
Sky 21 – Tầng thượng KS Belle Maison Parosand

Prices here are also pretty cheap, similar to Stella Maris, with Happy hour from 5-7pm daily, but the space and views are more limited. The corner table in the photo above has the best view.
Citron – Intercontinental

This isn’t actually a bar, but one of the restaurants at the luxury Intercontinental hotel that we mentioned in our previous article about Western restaurants in Da Nang.
I’m including them on this list because they have outdoor tables called “Nón Lá” with stunning views over Son Tra Bay, meeting the “rooftop” criteria for those interested.
Note that if you want to use these tables, you’ll need to book ahead (even several days during peak season). The restaurant also has a minimum spend requirement (from 1.4 million++ per person for the afternoon tea package, higher for main meals).

4. Cocktail bar
This is another topic we love covering and have written about a lot.
The cocktail bar scene in Da Nang may not be as diverse as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, but it’s still pretty interesting with plenty of options and much softer prices.
Tê bar
Tê (short for Tequila) is currently one of Da Nang’s most popular cocktail bars.

Two things stand out here:
- the hidden entrance (we won’t give it away so you can have the fun of finding it yourself 🙂
- their Mỳ Quảng cocktail (200k VND). The drink uses distinctive ingredients like turmeric vodka, green bell pepper, and peanuts to create flavors that instantly remind you of Da Nang’s signature dish. It’s a must-try for cocktail lovers.

Firebirds – Cocktail & More

With its tropical vibes, spacious and open feel, and pretty cool style, this is probably our favorite cocktail bar in Da Nang when it comes to design and atmosphere.
Their main strength is “Sour” cocktails with sweet and tangy fruit flavors that go down easily. We tried 2 signature drinks, and “Mít You” with spiced rum, D.O.M, jackfruit, coffee, and passion fruit (179k VND) was the tastier and more memorable one.

Additional Cocktail Bars We Tried
The Craftsman

This is one of Da Nang’s oldest and most well-known cocktail bars. We already visited it a few years back, and it was recently renovated in a “hidden bar” style.
Our experience this time wasn’t as good as before: The “Dill or No Dill” cocktail was pretty unbalanced, the vinahouse DJ music was terrible, and the overall atmosphere no longer had that cozy, intimate feel it used to have. That said, if you go on a day when they host different events like Strictly Vinyl (Wednesdays), Live Jazz (Fridays), Hip-hop/R&B (Saturdays), it might be more interesting (check their official channels before going in case of schedule changes).
Bar Đồ Yêu

The place has clearly put effort into their cocktail menu with lots of interesting Vietnamese ingredients, but both signature drinks we tried had pretty safe flavors that weren’t really memorable. The space design feels a bit “teen-ish.” Reasonable prices from 180-250k per drink.
Black Wolf Bespoke Cocktail Bar

This place doesn’t have a menu and only makes bespoke cocktails based on what customers want. Personally, we are not usually into bespoke since we prefer looking at detailed ingredients for each cocktail to make our choice, but Huong really liked their twist on an Old Fashioned(180k VND) here!
Linger – Bespoke Cocktail Bar

Another bespoke specialist, a bit far from the tourist center. While Black Wolf above impressed us with their bespoke Old Fashioned, Linger stood out with their take on a Whiskey Sour.
MAKARA Bar | Tiki Speakeasy

This bar specializes in tropical Tiki cocktails made with rum, perfect for those who like sweet and sour flavors. Reasonable prices from 170k VND. The space is attractive and stylish, with a somewhat “hidden” entrance that you’d probably miss if you just walked by quickly.
Bunker

This cocktail bar sits in a convenient spot on An Thuong’s expat strip. Live music happens on some weekdays plus there’s a 99k VND Whiskey Sour special (7-9 PM). Their signature cocktails are okay without being special, but at least the pricing is fair (~180k VND).

5. Live Music Bars
Besides the bars with live music events on certain days of the week that we mentioned above, here are some other spots that specialize in live bands (not clubs):
The 1920’s Lounge

With its attractive lounge design that manages to be spacious and open while staying cozy, classy and private, 1920’s is one of the top live music bars in Da Nang.
They have live music seven days a week featuring different bands with varying styles, and there’s no additional cover fee (see their Facebook page below for the full performance calendar).
It’s smart to reserve a table ahead of time on weekends if you want to secure a prime spot right by the stage. Just be aware that this place doesn’t particularly target Western customers. Depending on the band playing, expect Vietnamese or Korean songs or other music that might be outside your comfort zone if you were just expecting to hear another Guns N’ Roses cover.

Additional Choices
C Bar Đà Nẵng

Located in the An Thuong expat area, this place has live music every night (9-11 PM).
Xi Nê Bistro & Jazz

This bar currently has a jazz band every Friday night (8-10 PM).
Blends Social Bar / Heaven Bar

Two lively standout bars in the expat quarter with a Bui Vien vibe (if that’s your thing), often hosting various music events throughout the week (mostly DJs).
